does anybody know if it’s possible to program a combo on the controller?

For example, in symphony of the night, instead of having to press up down left right, A every time, I can just hit one button and it would perform the correct spell.

@bberlin1 So you want a "macro" button. Do you have an unused button? If not, how would any piece of software know whether you wanted to the individual input or the combination input? Unless you pressed a combination of buttons which is exactly what you have and don't like.

@iandaemon yes, exactly, a "macro button" as you put it, to be used with an unused button on the controller. I'm using DS4s, so there are plenty of unused buttons for some of the retro games I like to play.

Is this something that can be configured?

@bberlin1 You'd have to read up on it and customize an input.cfg file to run a script when you pressed a button. The script would feed the input sequence to the emulator and the emulator wouldn't know the difference.

I didn't see anything that specifically said "Dual Shock 4", but this may be close:

@bberlin1 This kind of functionality would be provided by the emulator (RetroArch with lr-pcsx-rearmed or lr-duckstation), but it's not present at the moment.
