Can you switch off the LEDs on the BBC Micro in MESS?

They're a bit annoying. The MESS docs just say "Notice that at the bottom left corner (to the left of the Spacebar) there are three LEDs: “ Cassette Motor”, “Caps Lock” and “Shift Lock”.", nothing about whether you can get rid of them, and I can't see anything relevant in either the MESS or Retroarch menus.
