Latest RetroPie on Pie 3 Model B "Your version no longer supported"
-
Hey All,
Quick question, I run the "sudo ~/RetroPie-Setup/retropie_setup.sh" command every other day just to get the latest updates but I've noticed when I go to update now I am given a screen that says "Your version of RetroPie which is based on Raspbian Stretch is no longer supported. We recommend you install the latest RetroPie image. Pre-built binaries are now disabled for your system."
I update the build anyway and it seems to update and I see that I am on 4.7.15 and commit is 53f225cc9. Am I still not receiving updates given the earlier message? Do I need to download the latest image and re-flash my SD card from scratch? I am just a little confused. Thanks for the help!

Am I still not receiving updates given the earlier message?
Yes, you're still able to update the RetroPie-Setup script at this point, but any updates to the emulators will have to be installed from source and there's no guarantee they'll install or work properly.
Do I need to download the latest image and re-flash my SD card from scratch? I am just a little confused.
Yes, that's how you can upgrade to a supported configuration. You can of course backup & restore your files from the old installation.

Thanks for this info! How would I go about attempting to update my emulators from source?
