I've searched in the forum, but haven't had any luck. Has there been any attempt to install Retropie on Jide's Remix Mini (16 Gb model RM1G)? Jide has discontinued support for the Remix Mini (a "desktop" version of the Android software). I'm wondering if it would require rooting and installing Ubuntu, and then installing the Retropie version that patches Ubuntu.
My curiosity was piqued after I saw the "Pi Cart" build (https://howchoo.com/g/mti0oge5nzk/pi-cart-a-raspberry-pi-retro-gaming-rig-in-an-nes-cartridge) and realized that the old Remix Mini I had lying around had a lot of the same built in ports and functionality.
Never rooted a device in my life, so I'm at the early stages of this daydream and looking for some insight.

If you can install Linux on it, it might work, but support for a new platform is not trivial to add in RetroPie. The device seems similar to the Vero4k hardware supported by OSMC, which is supported (to a certain extent) by RetroPie.
