I just finished building my arcade cabinet. I am using a pie 4 with retropie, an ipac and zippy switches and joysticks..

All appears to work but for the initial config of the switches, I have read I should be able to "skip" assigning a key by holding in a key for more then 3 seconds, this howerver appears not to work for me.. The interface just waits indefinately for me to release the button and it then either assigns it or tells me a key has allready been assigned..

What could be wrong ? I have connected the switches to the "normally open" side of the switch, I have double checked this..

I am using the latest retropie I could download: retropie-v3.8.1-rpi2_rpi3.img

The pie does not recognise each player individually, all its see is the keyboard (ipac4) that is connected i presume by usb

you need to configure the retroarch.cfg file in the gui first

once you have done that then you can ssh in to the pi and manually change all the inputs per player

I had to learn this the hardway an it took me weeks to almost master it, bar the issue i am having with regerds to running out of keystrokes
