@ExarKunIv I understand now. Is this the site I should ask?:

      https://github.com/tx00100xt/SeriousSamClassic

If so, I'll give them my specs and ask if they have a workaround or additional commands to use in order to build it. I don't have expertise in coding for Linux, but if they give me those steps, I'll pass that information to you (if you want to use it).

@Striderx99 yes that's where you want to ask.

        They should help you

@ExarKunIv I updated the RetroPie-Extra section. From there, I launched install-extras.sh, but I was only able to find rott-darkwar (the version I already installed) and rott-huntbgin under the Experimental Section. Are there any additional steps that need to be done to make rottexpr appear? I'd like to try it before I decide to uninstall rott-darkwar.

          Thanks.

@Striderx99 No, Both rott-darkwar and rott-huntbgin have been updated with the new port. I dont like to have the same thing more than once, so the old one was replaced

@ExarKunIv I took a few pictures to show the steps I tried. I didn't see the rottexpr listing there.

I apologize if I'm being persistent, but with a little tinkering (and some help from Github), I got Serious Sam: First and Second Encounter working. Many of the ports here are great, even if you may have to work on some things. I don't think I would look anywhere else for them.

@Striderx99 you will not see it.
i update the current script with the newer ports engines
since everyone already knows what they are. its not worth changeing them

so rott-darkwar and rott-huntbgin is running rottexpr.

@ExarKunIv Sorry about that. I'll just check if rottexpr needs additional files and update from source.

Haven't tried myself as it's 32bit only and I'm messing with the pi5 on 64bit builds but apparently the perfect dark source port has support for Linux Arm 32bit machines if anyone wants to attempt that:-

@ExarKunIv I took a shot at trying Diablo 2 after getting Diablo to run sucessfully. I downloaded the installers from Battle.net and obtained all the .mpq files requested from Diablo II and the Lord of Destruction Expansion Set. I also set the Virtual Machine resolution to 800x600 in WineCFG before launching the Diablo 2.sh. I am getting the screen that should appear, but there's an error message saying that I'm missing a d2exp.mpq file along with libd2game_sa_arm.exe. According to the runcommand.log, it says that a gtk module doesn't exist too:

Should I use a certain set of commands to get the gtk file(s) created? Are there any other steps I should take to get this working properly? Please let me know. Thanks.

@Striderx99 said in Suggestions for ports #2:

                        ImportError: No module named gtk

This looks like a python error, while trying the load the gtk python module. Maybe you missed an installation pre-requisite (python3-gi-cairo ?).

@mitu I just used ExarKunlv's scriptmodule, but I'm not sure if I was supposed to use some preliminary installation commands first. I looked at the steps under Package Help and included what was requested for the diablo2 folder, along with the selection for the correct resolution under the General tab and checked off the Virtual Machine option. If anyone knows those commands to add the gtk python module, please let me know. I'll try it out to see if that resolves the issue.

@Striderx99 again. That's probably not going to work since you are on a 64bit OS. The special library that was custom made for it to work was made with 32bit in mind.

Everything installs correctly with the current image from retropie.
Maybe once bookworm has been out there longer they will make a library that will work for it. But I don't know.

This is the last game I want to add onto the Ports section before I map the rest of these games to the joysticks I have (8-Bitdo and the Xbox 360). After that, I'll save this image of everything I got working on here. I'll move onto the Pi5 once that is done. If it doesn't work out, I'll just delete Lord of Destruction and add that once that gets ironed out.

I was able to get the Rise of the Triad working (the wrong scriptmodule was in the RetroPie-Setup section for some reason, so I copied the updated one there), but from what I read a few posts ago, joystick controls don't seem to work. The GL port of Hexen 2 also gave me a small problem, but I found a missing pak3.pak file and it works perfectly now.
