      Hi,

i want to test the mvc-support of kodi 15 to play 3d movies on my raspberry pi 3. this worked very good with an libreelec image i've tested yesterday. but i don't want to buy an extra pi just for this. at the moment i've installed retropie 3.3 and all works fine. how can i update only kodi without the whole system (maybe something has changed, i don't want to do a new setup; i'm glad all is running). i found this http://blog.petrockblock.com/forums/topic/updating-kodi/#post-103300, but its over a year old.

You can't (At least not cleanly) - you should start from a new image.

There is a way, but it's not worth the hassle due to the base OS going form Wheezy to Jessie. It may take even longer too. It's not so much about the RetroPie version as the OS version.

            Please post the output of

            cat /etc/issue
            cd ~/RetroPie-Setup
            git log -n 1

no code blocks in the new forum?

              pi@retropie ~ $ cat /etc/issue
              Raspbian GNU/Linux 7 \n \l

              pi@retropie ~/RetroPie-Setup $ git log -n 1
              commit 56207818aa0d2290a924ddc3fc00c35d2fe82e1a

use an older revision of dxx-rebirth for the rpi due to upstream build break

The forum uses markdown - http://commonmark.org/help/ three backticks for code blocks or one for inline code.

You have retropie 3.4 I think, but the base OS is Raspbian Wheezy, so you will need a new image for Kodi 16 - upgrading from Wheezy is not recommended.
