Noob needs help

Hi all,
I’m new, purchased my set up months ago. Was waiting for my vinyl to get here for my 1up cabinet, before setting up all the buttons etc. i hooked up the Pi, screen and hooked up the wireless controller just to make sure it worked. Think I went through set up of a few buttons, said I’m not going any further, turned it off, and waited for my vinyl, long story short took the guy 5 months to get the vinyl correct for the control deck, so just now finally, am putting it all together.
Upon start up it does its start up, teenage wasteland intro, then goes to the pi screen (green/red) and instead of there being commands on the bottom right for menu settings etc it’s just blank at the bottom. Screen doesn’t go any farther. I’ve tried to connect and use the same controller, connected all 4 sets of player encoders to it. Nothing. Can’t get it to recognize anything. There a chance it’s screwed up? Is there a master reset lol? Bought this to build for a friend for a gift for his wife and it keeps getting pushed back more and more.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!I tried to look for a post related but couldn’t find anything. If you can please forward then delete if there is one
