ControlBlock strange on/off behaviour
-
Hey dear folks, hey dear Petrockblock,
I have bought a ControlBlock 2, as well as a Raspberry Pi 4 B (4GB) with the official USB-C power adapter (5.1V / 3.0A).
I connected...- the power adapter to the ControlBlock,
- a momentary button to the switch pins,
- a resistor/led to the led pins,
- of course the ControlBlock on the Pi
When using the button to turn on or off the Pi, I observe the following:
- to turn it on, I have to hold the button 5 seconds. Just tapping it like in the 3rd video does not suffice.
- while the Pi boots, the LED is off. Not even blinking, it's off.
- when the Pi is on, pressing the button again immediately turns it off, without a warning. Then, the LED starts blinking, about 2-3 seconds per blink cycle (power-on blinking), but nothing happens anymore. The Pi is off, the LED blinks.
- Holding the button 5 seconds again repeats this at step 1.
Next strange thing:
- When trying to install the driver (
sudo make installservice
), after 5 or 6 quick lines of output, the Raspberry goes off, immediately, without a warning. - All previous build steps work without errors (just compile warnings). Just
sudo make installservice
orinstall.sh
kills it.
Also, no gamepads are detected, so I assume the driver is not installed properly.
What can I do to fix this, or test, to help analyze?
Thanks anyone for help.

@thereincarnator Update:
I now managed to get at least the controller ports working by connecting the power supply directly to the Raspberry. Buttons and joysticks work, so the driver should be ok.
But unfortunatelly, the power issue remains, so I cannot use the power button to turn it on and off. -
@thereincarnator Hi! Sorry for this delayed reply. I just sent you a replay to your email!
We will make it work!
