      So I got the new Pi 4 8gb Canakit for Christmas and I gonna use it to replace my PI 3. It came with a 128 GB SD card so I'll have enough room to put games on. Thing is that I want to transfer my roms from my old Pi 3 to my Pi 4, what's the safe way to do this?

        @redbatman if the Pi 3 is on your home network, and you have a windows PC on the same network, you just need to copy the roms, bios, and configs folders (and splashscreens too, if you use them) over the Samba share (just enter \\retropie in your PC's search bar or file explorer, and drag the folders to a location on your PC. Make sure to hold Shift (I think) to "copy" the files and not "link" them.)

        Then set up the Pi 4 with the default image for that hardware. Once you get it back on the network, simply copy the roms, etc. back via the same method.

          Alternatively, you can image the Pi 3's SD card with win32diskimager, and then you can use 7zip to view the image on your PC and extract the files:

          roms = /home/pi/RetroPie/roms
          bios = /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS
          configs = /opt/retropie/configs
          (optional) splashscreens = /home/pi/RetroPie/splashscreens

          ...then setup the Pi 4 and use any of the methods listed here to transfer them back.
