      Hi,

      im using a Pi4 with Retropie inside a selfmade bartop with a vertical monitor.
      It works well, the system starts not in vertical-mode (dont know why), but emulationstation does.

      Most of the games and emulators starts in vertical-mode with
      video_allow_rotate = true
      video_rotation = 1
      added in retroarch.cfg inside the emulator-directory. So far, so good.

      Amiberry dont switch to vertical-mode that way. Why?
      Should I try another Amiga-Emulator?

      Thanx for an answer.

        @palmiga amiberry is not a libretro-emulator and because of that your global settings for the other (lr-)emulators dont work with them.

        I had an Amiga(2000) when i was a kid and therefore i cannot understand your plan at all.
        There was not a single game that wanted you to turn your 1084(S) Monitor to 90°...what are you intended to do?
        As mentioned there were no vertical Amiga games at all, so this may be the reason why amiberry does not have an option to turn the screen.

          As @sirhenrythe5th mentioned, Amiberry is not a libretro-based emulator, so retroarch.cfg options don't apply to it. You can try the lr-puae libretro-based emulator for Amiga emulation, which you can install from the RetroPie-Setup packages.

          Amiberry has a rotation option, which you can set in amiberry.conf - 'rotation_angle' - see https://github.com/midwan/amiberry/wiki/Amiberry.conf-options for the full option list.

          @sirhenrythe5th I think the problem here is that the display/monitor is rotated and since the Pi4 has no easy rotation options, the video output will not appear correctly (will be rotated to the left) since the default display orientation is portrait and not vertical. It's not about vertical games, but about the display itself.

            @sirhenrythe5th Well, because the screen inside my bartop is vertical and I want to play some Amiga-games with it.

              @mitu Thanks, I will try this. And you are right about the reason.

                @palmiga I came across this issue a while ago (have a monitor built-in upside-down / 180 deg rotated).

                Here is some information why Amiberry 3.3 / 4.+ on Rpi4 can not make be work at the moment use the rotation switch.

                That is why I stick/reverted to Kernel 4.19 and accompanied Rpi firmware. With that I can use display_rotate= in /boot/config.txt. [1]

                Either we see a Amiberry Retroach implementation by end of 2024 (this is when Kernel 4.19 is discontinued) or the Raspberry foundation comes up with a solution which also works with Amiberry.

                  @mitu @all
                  I switch to lr-puae and to lr-vice and it works great now.
                  Thanx for your help.
