As I've mentioned in other threads, I'm working toward a 100% kiosk-mode setup (or as close as I can get to it), so friends or kids playing my retorpie can't change or alter anything once I've got it configured. Just pick up and play, with things being reset (or not saved) when the system is powered off.

I'm mostly there, but I did notice that things like the sound settings slider is still accessible. And if I change it in kiosk mode, it does persist upon shutdown/reboot. This is a minor thing, but I was wondering if this too can be set to some kind of "don't save value on exit" option?

The sound slider is just modifying the system audio volume, it's not something that's persisted in EmulationStation settings. It just reads and sets the current volume - so it can't be made 'read-only'.

OK, thanks. Just figured I'd double check. Much appreciated.

@AlphaBetaPie Why not use kid mode? It locks everything away behind that trusty konami code.
