      Heya.

      Linky:
      https://syncthing.net/

I'm currently using Rclone with Google Drive, but was curious if there is a safer and more secure option when cloud saving.

Cheers to all and happy gaming.

Thanks ahead for any responses. :)

They have a package for arm and arm64, maybe is possible to install this program, but the configuration it will be tricky i believe. Why not to use the file manager to copy your saves to external storage? I am using this solution, to copy saves and configuration files, without issues so far.

My English isn't at a good level.

I was doing the same about a year ago.

Trouble is though, the IP addresses would occasionally change.

You also need both devices turned on to make the save file exchange.

It's just so much better having them auto upload and download from cloud storage.

I can't seem to get the latest version of Rclone to install correctly.

It now wants to open a web browser to confirm the configuration.

That doesn't happen on my end, and the address they provide if it doesn't work just times out for some reason.

          I'm not sure why.

I disabled all firewalls and virus protections.

          I don't get it.

So I'm stuck with an older version and sharing through Google Drive.

@Addison I'm using Unison to keep my RetroPie installations synchronized between my Pis and my other Linux machines. It's also available for MacOS and Windows, edit: but I have no experience using it on them.

I have two Pi 4s, three handheld devices, and a tablet.

I don't think Unison would be the right direction for me on this.

I did give it a try, but it's a little beyond my understanding.

@Addison You out-gadget me, 😉 I have "only" four Pis (only two in use at the moment), one Laptop, and two PCs – one mini, one tower., all running some Linux, except for a dual-boot Win 10 on the big PC for gaming.

Unison is one of those tools that require a bit of reading and tinkering at the start, only to then run (semi-)automatically after that. That said, I'm using its GUI version unison-gtk on my mini PC that functions as the "master" of the other RetroPie installations. That way, I don't have to sync everything with everything, but only everything else with the mini PC.

So, I have not much experience with unison on the command line. Network access is provided by my normal LAN ssh setup between all the machines.

It's fine if you don't have use for it, I just wanted to suggest it as an alternative. 🙂

                  Yeah.

The download I used on their homepage didn't come with a GUI.

I guess I should probably take another look at this again using that feature.

Have fun. 🙂👍️ unison-gtk should be available in most Debian-based Linux distributions. Don't know how it is for Mac or Win.
