I have an old PS3 I still use. I use one of the PS3's controllers for the Pi. When I boot up the Pi, I have to press the "PS" button in the center for it to establish a connection with the Pi. However, if I do that, unless the PS3 is unplugged, the controller turns the PS3 on and pairs with it instead of the Pi. Happens wired or unwired.

      Any workaround for this?

      Thanks

@RickyEarl get a paper clip and press the reset button on the back of the controller then resync with the pi.

@edmaul69 So if I've already synced my PS3 controller to the Pi, and I want to use it for PS3, I can just hit the reset button and resync to the PS3? Then do the same to resync back to the Pi again when I'm done with the PS3?

@edmaul69 so that basically "erases" the link with the PS3? Thanks!

@mattrixk with the ps3 plugging it in should resync it. But for the pi you would have to hit reset to kill the ps3 sync. But personally i would eventually invest in another controller myself to avoid the resyncing on the pi

                Thanks @edmaul69.

I don't play the ps3 often enough to spend the money on more controllers, and if I did buy more, I would probably end up syncing them to the Pi too so I can play 4 player games.
