Emulation Station Crashes, Pi 400
-
On startup Emulation station appears to start normally and scans the title folders, the screen goes black momentarily then a Blue screen appears with a error message
"if this is the first boot of Retropie – make sure you are using the correct image for your system.
Check your rom file/folder permissions and if running on a Raspberry Pi make sure your gpu_split is set high enough and or switch back to using carbon theme”I am using a Pi 400 with the normal ![alt text](![image url](image url))Pi PSU - tried booting from SD card, USB stick and SSD,
Checked the performance menu and the GPU is set to 512.! -
Can you please add some info about your setup, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first ?
On the Pi4 (and 400) there's no need for the GPU memory split, that's required for earlier models. If you have installed from the RetroPie image downloaded from https://retropie.org.uk/download, the memory settings should be fine. For a Pi4, a 512 GPU split is excessive and will not help the performance.
