Yes, a first time poster and no, I don't needs roms or BIOS or games etc, I've been emulating for about 15 years now (god, has it been that long).

My last project was a JAMMA cab converted to run PCBs and an xbox running coinops and after getting that running really well, I had hoped that moving over to a Pi would be a doddle but I'm struggling. Anything up to MAME and the 16bits is fine but when you get into the PSX, N64 etc it all goes to pot.

I've just upgraded from a Pi2 to a Pi3 (I love both systems) and am OK with transferring files and entering stuff via the terminal etc. I have it all set up but I think my end product is just off somehow.

What I'm after is a guide to the systems/games that are 'playable' with easy to medium tech input, I'm no tech expert but I can follow an idiot guide really well for some reason. I'm not a collector (anymore) or a tech head, I actually want to play the games, so if they are definitely a no go? I'll just sack them off and move on but it's proving to be a time sink checking various games/emus a few at a time. Take the N64, I had zero hopes of that running because of the controller alone yet Mariokart runs pretty well straight away but Goldeneye and the Star Wars titles are like playing with Tourette syndrome.

Again, sorry if this is the millionth time a question like this has been asked but at least I didn't ask for roms eh?

Oh and whats the deal with the Sega Saturn? Why is it so hard to emulate on ANYTHING?!?!

I'm not a complete scutter either, I did donate 2 whole quid to this site, and will continue to do so, because retropie is ace

      edit:

I have a Pi3, am using a class 10 32gb SD card, and both the 10p Korean SNES knockoff pads and a wired 360 pad

Pretty much all the systems not in "Experimental" should run in a stable fashion.
The experimental ones are marked with a triangle here:

For some of the systems, like N64, a compatibility list is maintained:

Please read the Docs before asking a new question.

Yeah, cheers man. I've gotten a few N64 games working now and even a couple of Playstation ones. I might look at the DC next
