Hi, I have recently installed retropie on an old PC ive had laying around in hopes of playing some games and using it as a media centre. I tried installing kodi from the install script and it can't install the binary. If I try to install it manually it works just fine but not through retropie. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. -
It's an issue with the Kodi team's Ubuntu's PPA, their repository doesn't include the
kodi-inputstream-rtmp
package, causing an installation conflict because of the Kodi version shipped with Ubuntu 22.04.We'll sort this out, in the mean time you can just create a
kodi.sh
file in$HOME/RetroPie/ports
with the command to startkodi
:#!/usr/bin/env bash kodi-standalone

@mitu Hi, I could not seem to find a folder called ports in that directory so I created one and created the file. Kodi does not seem to show up as an option in the ports menu. Am I doing something wrong?

I think you need to have at least (another) port package installed, so EmulationStation is configured for it. Try installing
cannonball
, then restart EmulationStation.EDIT: Try updating RetroPie-Setup and re-run the installation again.

@mitu Thanks, updating the script and reinstalling helped.
