I have a black border around my games that I believe is the overlay being displayed. I don't have any loaded overlays so I am assuming the black border is the default. I have the overlay option disabled in retroarch and searched everywhere. I even went to another build and compared settings to no avail. I only use mame along with the mame 2003 plus emulator.

However, the issue may not be around the overlays but how to expand the video/game once overlays are removed to fit the screen. I do hav the "full screen" option enabled but again the border remains.

Additionally I am using a 4:3 arcade lcd screen. 1941 for example has the a black border that runs around the entire image. So it's not that I am loading a 16:9 and not expecting to see black on the top/bottom.

Any thoughts on how to remove the black border are greatly appreciated.

@cjc1972 I am replying to myself as I didn't know how else to close the post and for any others that may run into a similar issue. under scaling/integar scale I had enabled and after disabling resolved the issue.
