      I think I have a problem with the duration of the gray box (runcommand) that appears before each game. Since I'm currently testing some DOS games to see if they work, I wanted to shorten the time until the game starts.
      If I read that correctly in the documentation, you can change that in the Retropie setup. By default, 2 seconds are entered there, but the box stopped for around 6 seconds from the start before the Dosbox logo appeared and the game started. So the 2 seconds had no impact. I then changed the 2 to 0 with no effect. I know I can also disable the box, but that's actually not my intention. I don't use custom-images or similar for the runcommand-box.

      So can someone give me a tip as to why the set time doesn't work here and where else I could change it?

      I would also be interested to know if you can set different delays for runcommand for different emulators.

      My /opt/retropie/configs/all/runcommand.cfg

      use_art = "0"
      disable_joystick = "0"
      governor = ""
      disable_menu = "0"
      image_delay = "0"

        There's no setting for how long the runcommand banner stays - it's set to 2 seconds, but that doesn't include the delay added by the internal time runcommand spends before it's shoing the launch banner.

        The only configuration is for how long the image stays on - which doesn't have any effect if you're not using launch images.

          @mitu Is it possible to deactivate the banner for e.g. the dosbox without effecting other emulators?

            @10vorne No. What you can do is disable the launch menu temporarily while you test Dosbox games or launch the games directly (see the runcommand.log file for the actual command used to launch a game).
