I'm not sure what happened. System had been operating as it should. Haven't updated the software in a little while so I'm not sure what version I'm running but I'm working with a pi4b+.

So suddenly the system has started having a major error on boot. The start up text appears to be working as normal but then the screen flashes green and then goes to black. The video splash screen isn't working, no audio. Emulation station doesn't appear to have booted, but when I attached a keyboard and pushed the button to exit emulation station it exits to the command line but the visible screen is now shrunk to maybe 1/8 the size of the monitor and is now at the top left of the screen. I'm not sure what to try at this point, I tried two separate images on the same pi and the error is the same, so I'm thinking the pi itself may have developed a fault. Any advice on what routes to go to attempt to fix this would be appreciated. I don't want to have to buy another pi if I don't have to.

Try a different HDMI cable, if you have one.
