Poorer performance after upgrade
-
I've just done an upgrade following the instructions on the Wiki, taking me from 3.6 to 3.7.
The upgrade, however, seems to have caused some serious degradation in performance.
I'm using a Pi2. Since the upgrade, I've noticed power consumption has gone up dramatically (I'm now getting the rainbow square warning constantly), and now Genesis-gx-plus seems to have major lag issues which it didn't before (Picodrive is fine though).
Has anyone else had the same problem? Would doing a fresh install and starting from scratch do the job? I'm trying to avoid doing that as I've spent ages getting my setup the way I like it and I really don't want to have go through setting up shaders and overlays for everything all over again!

That's really quite strange. I updated mine from 3.6 to 3.7 this evening after clarifying some things on this thread:
https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/335/question-about-upgrading-and-config-overwrites
And I have not had the issues you describe, just a couple of files were overwritten which I had to restore and my default emulators for each system got reset to what the image uses.Cannot say anything is lagging or giving me problems, but I have hardly had time to test it.

Are you using shaders? Try changing the render resolution, and read the 3.7 announcement regarding this.

Good tip about the announcement notes- slightly confusing that my Pi2 seems to be having trouble with its own default res but will have a rummage in the global config.
Noob question - when I've tried changing the render resolution, I literally have to hold down the left dpad and let the thing scroll down from 1440 and I'm aiming for 640. This takes ages - is there a quicker and easier way of doing this?

I'm using a Pi3 and ES seems a little laggy since upgrading to Retropie 3.7. The whole interface was buttery smooth on 3.6 but now I get lag when changing between systems etc.

@deusxm use the configuration editor or runcommand menu for per system config. See wiki
