      Hi Everyone, new here so sorry if this has been discussed before.

      I have a HP Pro 3420 All in one.
      i3 CPU with Intel HD Graphic 2000

      I installed ubuntu using ubuntu 23.04 legacy iso. Then Retropie using the commands in the documentation.
      All goes well except the video, is flashing white stripes, horizontally. Despite this issue Retropie and the games are working fine.
      If I edit the grub file by adding the "nomodeset" the flashing lines go away but that breaks Retropie. As we know the nomodeset tells the kernel not to use the Intel graphic driver.
      When trying to run a game I get xrandr: failed to get size of gamma for output default.

      Any thoughts?

        Use an older Ubuntu version like 22.04.
        You issue seems to be either related to the GPU driver or maybe a bad video cable - what display are you using, is it a monitor or a TV ?

          @andini

          If you are using Wayland as your display server (now default on Ubuntu 22.04 on) try switching to Xorg instead.
