Problems connecting to bluetooth speaker

I have followed all the steps mentioned in this topic but still it is very unstable.
Sometimes, I can find the device but i can't connect (I get a bluez error)
sometimes the device wont even be detected
But the device is shown in all paired devices (it is not shown in connected devices)
i got it working once but couldn't get it work once more
Overall, the process feels very unstable and it feels buggy -
