Pi Model or other hardware: Pi 5
Power Supply used: Official Pi 5 Power Supply
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.8.6
Built From: RetroPie-Setup GitHub project, file: retropie_setup.sh script on top of Raspbian official full x64 img
USB Devices connected: Keyboard, Mouse, USB N64 Controller (2)
      Controller used: USB N64 Controller
      Error messages received: None
      Verbose log: PasteBin
      Guide used: None
File (File with issue - with FULL path): Mario Kart Double Dash Rom (/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/gc/Mario Kart Double Dash!!.ciso)
Emulator: lr-Dolphin (others dolphin emulators broken)
      Attachment of config files: PasteBin
How to replicate the problem: Via Dolphin Standalone Emulator: switch driver to vulkan (llvmpipe LLVM 15.0.6, 128 bits), works perfectly, but V3D 7.1.7 is broken. Via lr-dolphin in retropie: switch driver to vulkan (either llvmpipe or V3D) or OpenGL, crashes randomly, but if I was lucky, the tint still persists in all 3. Some days, vulkan plays nice, but today was not one of them. I have indeed tested sdl2 and glcore with similar results. OpenGL in dolphin: tint persists.

This is my first time posting on the forums, so if there is anything I missed, feel free to ask. I have the vulkan drivers installed correctly (vkcube works), and I reinstalled retroarch from source after editing the retroarch.sh file to show the option for vulkan. The tint issue is most likely due to the inability for dual-source blending on the Raspberry Pi. Please don't mention that dolphin isn't fully ready for the RasPi 5, I got it working almost perfectly with the overclock. I also have my reasons for putting it on top of the full Raspbian img. I greatly appreciate the assistance!

Edit: Oh, and if anyone has any information on how to get Xbox Cloud Gaming set up, I would appreciate it! I may make a post on it sooner or later.

Indeed, both Dolphin emulators have issue with the dual source blending, confirmed with Resident evil 4, and it's happening to all retro gaming distro's. So, it's a issue that must be reported to the developer of Dolphin. Maybe is something to do with the Pi drivers.

I think that the best thing they should do is to add a setting in graphics to disable dual-source blending.

I am confident it's an issue with the drivers in the Rpi. I mean, the entire concept of a Raspberry Pi is that it is supposed to be compact, so they can't throw in a 4090 GPU even if they wanted to in the first place.

            It's already reported https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/13416.

There's also a ticket regarding it here on mesa/v3d, it's something on their radar, although I do notice when I attempt to run dolphin standalone with Vulkan backend it defaults back to OGL anyway, so it's fair to say there's other Vulkan development needed for it to function on the RPI 5, still early days really

I appreciate the sources everyone, but what if I tried downgrading dolphin to version 5.0-6152, where the issue no longer persists? Is that possible with lr-dolphin, since dolphin and dolphin-emu break, and would it be worth it in the first place? Just an idea I had, and I am indeed looking for alternatives.

I also tested with software renderer despite its extremely slow nature, and on standalone dolphin, the issue was fixed. Although, on retropie, the issue persisted and it didn’t slow down at all. Maybe I am not switching the drivers correctly, because I go into the quick menu, switch what I need, and press restart below the resume button. Am I doing anything wrong?

@AwesomeKingClem Not sure what you expect to happen ? You reported a bug in the emulator, same bug was reported to the upstream project. There's no need for a new topic and unless a fix is provided in some way (preferrably by the upstream project), there's no update necessary.

@mitu Well, do you or anyone else know of any good temporary solutions like gecko codes, downgrading dolphin, or maybe I am not switching drivers correctly?

                            Re: MKDD Tint Issue RPI5

This was a post I made a month ago, and I would like to know if there are any temporary solutions to this issue. I got the normal Dolphin emulator working rather than just lr-Dolphin. Are there any gecko codes I can try, could I downgrade Dolphin, maybe edit the in-game files, or am I not switching drivers correctly? I do apologize if this counts as bumping, but Mario Kart DD is an amazing GameCube game, and I can't leave it unplayable.

This is what they tell me in Discord:

reply1: sounds like broken graphics drivers, not much to do about that

reply2: Your graphics drivers lack support for dual source blending. Normally Dolphin can make up for this by using framebuffer fetch, but your graphics drivers seem to lack that too

reply3: use llvmpipe to fix it

@abj Well, I looked through everything I reported, and my best option may seem to be to use the normal Dolphin emulator (not lr-Dolphin) on Vulkan llvmpipe. I wasn't able to test it yet, so it may be worth a try.

@abj I tested it, and now it works with the tint completely gone! The only issue I have now is that it runs PAINFULLY slow, even with a 30fps gecko code. Any suggestions, or any other forums with solutions?
