I have Retropie working on a 32gb sd card and it has taken all the space. So I'm wondering if you can partition an SD card, put RetroPie on one partition and use the other to store ROM's on.

      Is this possible?

What do you mean taken all the space?
Get to the command line (press F4 in Emulation Station) and type df -h to show free space.

Yes, what you're describing is possible, but unnecessary I believe. You can store ROMs on retropie's working partition. Retropie itself doesn't take up nearly 32GB.

Thanks for the answers. I now understand more about how it works and see that putting ROMS on to usb and plugging in it automatically copies to the retropie file structure. Thanks.
