Just installed 4.0, but I find if the wireless 360 controller shuts off while you are in one of the config menus (aka the DOS menus), the controller stops working all together and I have to use my Keyboard. Also found that the stupid green light on the controllers will keep going around and round for the 1st controller, yet will light up for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, and yes it isn't the batteries, because it happens on each controller as I tested them all.

Should I just remove Xpad and install Xboxdrv instead then? As 4.0 comes with Xpad, yet I find as I said above, that if the controller shuts off it stops working while in the Dos-type menus.

@Dominus xboxdrv won't work on 4.0. try rebooting. Also is it possible you disabled joy2key with the runcommand Menu?

@herb_fargus Nope It was a new install on a fresh SD. I did the inputs for 4 controllers, then went into the menu swapped A/B in ES, then rebooted. Checked out the options. Noticed the 1st controller only had the flashing green lights, so took the batterypack out while I was in the menu, turned it back on, and it no longer worked till I exited. Also happened when I was downloading a theme and left it alone and the controller timed out, came back and same thing. I had to use the keyboard to exit.

@Dominus I have had some inconsistency with my controller but a reboot has always worked for me . I'm not sure what it could be. Try with just one controller (may require it to be the player one joypad for joy2key which if player one isn't working would explain it.)

If you lose/power off a controller while it is controlling the retropie-setup menus you will lose joystick control . the current joystick control in those menus is just a simple aid - it isn't really considered a replacement for a keyboard for configuring. The joystick disappearing will cause the device file to go, so the joy2key tool will stop running (until lretropie-setup is launched again)

@BuZz Ok good to know. Is this new to 4.0? I think my last update was 3.5, and I don't remember it doing it.

                    Thanks again.

@Dominus I think it would have stopped then too. I do intend to make some improvements to this soon.
