      I read this thread:

      https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/22849/lr-vice-and-vic-20-plus-4-c128-and-commodore-pet/9?_=1712430306633

but it's well beyond my tech level. I already have the C64, C16/Plus4, VIC-20 and Pet running via lr-vice, but I can't remember what the trick was.

Raspberry Pi 3b and 8GB Raspberry Pi 4, both running Retropie 4.7.1 installed from scratch using Raspberry Pi Imager, with wired keyboard, wireless mouse and double arcade joystick attached.

Current version of RetroPie installs the C128 core automatically with lr-vice. There's no trick involved, you just need to upgrade to the current version first.

@mitu Actually it turned out all I needed to do was edit ES_SYSTEMS.CFG and it all just worked. Weird, I thought I'd already tried that.
