Was running 3.6, everything was working, but decided to start fresh with 4.0.

I reimaged with 4.0 yesterday (from git download site), on rasp 3. Got updates, and added Doom, Wolf3d and Quake3.
Doom displays the splash page, then errors with a graphics memory error, Wolf3d complains about sound running off page, Quake 3 reported that files couldn't be found. I was able to fix Quake 3 by moving the pk files from the ports folder into the .qk3 folder.

Based on quake being unable to get to its pack files, I suspect it is something similar with Doom and wolfendstein. Looking up the sound running off page error, found a reference to a dll that is in the right wolf folder, but maybe it can't find it.

Which doom did you add ? Did you add lr-prboom which is the same doom as on the 3.6 version.

I will look into the quake issue and check the others. Could be a similar issue as you say - the pak installing was changed. I will check.

Quake3 demo pak install dir should be fixed now (updating retropie-setup is needed and then reinstalling).

@stwood6 For Wolf4SDL, you need to choose the wolf4sdl-sw-v14 binary from the runcommand menu. Check the wiki for details.

I have raised an issue so that the shareware binary is default.

Thanks. It's fixed in the code now, athough as we never change users defaults, this will only affect new installs. Existing installs will need to switch the default manually. removing and re-adding would also fix it.
