@itsnitro I think that was everyones reaction to Prime 4, even though they only showed the logo

I'm excited but I heard another company besides Retro Studios is making this one. Not sure if that's good or bad.
I'm really excited about the new 2d Metroid which is going to be a remake of the original Metroid II for Game Boy! Maybe it's time to get a 3DS XL like @obsidianspider did.

@backstander Prime 4 is being worked on in house by Nintendo.
If you buy a 3DS, hack it
-
@backstander Just make sure you don't get one that was a part of the ban wave and you're good. I'm really liking my "New" 3DS XL that I bought on eBay. I don't know that I'd pay $200 for a brand new one, but for the $97 I spent on my lightly used one I'm happy.

I second this. I was hesitant, but I'm really glad I did and it was very straightforward.
-
@obsidianspider I just loaded my 3DS up with GBA games for vacation, beat Metroid Zero Mission and am starting Advance Wars.

It used to be a pretty involved process. I'm glad to see it's been simplified. I might try to pick one up sometime soon.
Metroid Zero Mission and am starting Advance Wars
Great choices. Those are two that I've actually gone back to beat multiple times.

@mediamogul As long as you're not on 11.4 it's really easy. If you're on 11.4 it's possible, but you need to jump through some hoops. A 128GB Micro SD card, charging cradle, and USB to 3DS charging cable were the essential accessories for me. I use this thing daily.
-
@lilbud GBA games seem to be a bit slow for me, but they're playable. NES, GB, GBC, Genesis, MAME2003, most Neo Geo, and most SNES games run really well. I haven't tested much beyond that.
-
@obsidianspider I'm not using a GBA emulator, I'm using native GBA emulation
-
Do you make use of the 3D yourself? I always hear a ton of people say they turn it off, but from what little I've played first-hand, it seems like it works really well.
-
@mediamogul I tried it, but either my eyes don't work right, or maybe it's the low light I often play in, but it doesn't seem to work totally correctly for me. I usually leave it off.

is there supposed to be an image? I can't see it.

@lilbud Ah, Virtual Console games.

-
Dang, how do you do this?
-
@itsnitro Usually with Photoshop. I first have to pick a game or company and search for the font to use. It has to be free because I'm not spending $70 bucks on 1 font file for 1 project. Then I stylize the "Retropie" text in the font so it looks like the logo. The amiibo one was simple. But one like the Sargent Pepper drum head was difficult. With each letter of "Jools" having a different gradient, plus having to curve the text to match the rest of the drum head.

This one took too damn long but here it is.

The japanese text is retro pie instead of one whole word. And I think its correct...paging @FlyingTomahawk
