Zero delay digital start.
-
I am currently in my first build, and mocking things up.
From ali I got an 2 player arcade set with buttons and joystick using zero delay encoders.
When mapping initially it sees the joystick input as axis and mapping this as the D pad gave issues in menu controlNow the encoders come with a mode input to switch from analogue to digital (red vs green led) and when in digital mapping the D-pad works well. However the controllers initially start in analogue. Is there a way of stating them as digital.
I found a indestructible blog using a similar encoder, which says jumper J1 can be used to autostart in analogue when moved to the non default position... indicating theirs starts in digital. where mine starts in analogue and I want it to start in digital. Will this still be achieved by the same J1 jumper?

As I am still in mock up testing...
I thought why not just try... worst case it fails and I have to get a new encoder.
So I have taken out the good old soldering iron and moved the J1 jumper from next to R2 as it came delivered and moved it next to R1 Using same middle contact.
Now when plugging into the USB it boots up with the Green light "on" being in digital mode, the mode switch if desired still lets me change state.
I made a video comparing the encoders one left as delivered starting analogue with red led, and one modified by relocating the jumper (before modifying the 2nd one).
