simple dark theme problem

Hi all I am using raspberry pi 3 retropie installed from 3.8 image and updated to 4.0.1 online.
I installed simple dark theme but when I push start and go to scraper the database name looks like white filled boxes for each character. and it is not limited for only scraper in other menus most of the characters looks like white boxes.
for the normal simple theme it is normal like in carbon theme.
