      I've currently manually installed Retropie on my new Raspberry Pi 5 with Bookworm and bought a Waveshare 4 inch LCD HDMI IPS Display (https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/4inch_HDMI_LCD) which is a grave mistake probably since this display always defaults into portrait mode.

      I tried these:

      video=HDMI-A-1:1920x1080M@60,rotate=90

      emulationstation --screenrotate 1 --screensize 800 480

      video_allow_rotate=yes
      video_rotation = "1"

      (From this Forum https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/26917/rotate-screen-on-pi4/2)

      But this only rotated Emulation Station and Retroarch (except the pause/configuration menu)

      How do you Rotate Ports and Non-Retroarch Emulators like PPSSPP (plus the pause/configuration menu of Retroarch)?

        Use an X11/Wayland desktop session and rotate the display via xrandr/wlrandr.
