Atari Ultimate Flight Stick configuration

I have the flight stick with the trackball and I am trying to get it configured to work with retropi.
I am running RPI on a linux machine (kubuntu).
When Emulation Station appears and asks to configure the controllers, it thinks that we have xbox type controllers instead of the arcade controllers. I've looked online for help but haven't found a solution.Does anyone have any ideas?
