Has anyone else tested the Beetle-PSX HW core on a Pi 5 with Vulkan enabled in Retroarch and forced through the "Core Options" for the core?

In my experience, the performance is quite poor (at least, when using a 2x resolution upscale). Normally I'd just say that must be a limitation of the hardware, since the Pi 5 doesn't have the most impressive GPU. But what surprises me is that upscaling the resolution to 2x native runs PERFECTLY in every game I've tested when using software-rendering.

Typically, hardware-accelerated rendering is more performant than using software rendering, so I'm puzzled. As far as why I'm so keen on using Vulkan: there are several settings only available when using it (Adaptive Smoothing, UV Texture Offset, Chroma Smoothing, etc.). I'm providing a link to a pastebin of my verbose log for a brief session with Vulkan set in the Core Options. Everything looked normal to me, other than the detected monitor resolution stating "0x0."
