      Hello all

      I've used Retropie for many years and decided to upgrade to a pi 5 mainly to use steam link as well

      I've done a fresh install, using the Raspberry OS lite 64 bits as suggested (there is no pre maed install for raspberry pi 5).

      Git cloned the setup, did the basic install...

      Does not start. I'm getting "Stack Smashing Detected". Tried to reinstall many times, tried emulationstation-dev but nothing

      I don't understand... And it seems other people don't have the same problem

      Please help

        I tried to reinstall from scratch

        Installed only emulationstation, nothing else

        It succeeded (even though it says nothing will work but at least the UI starts)

        Then I started to install only core packages but same error again

            @ExarKunIv Hey thanks so much

            I was getting desperate,

            let me try that

            I just don't see what could be different, the OS is the same and so is the hardware

            I'll get back to you

              @Moulinex Just booted the plus one and ..

              it works !

              I'm not gonna lie, I'm still afraid somehow any update would corrupt it but maybe it's related to my SD Card

              Anyhow, I'm going to try a game now !

              Just one word

              THANKS
