Help Finding mortal kombat full chacters list in one game.

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some help or suggestions. My main goal is to play a version of Mortal Kombat on RetroPie that includes the most characters possible in one game — maybe something like MKPlus or another fan-modified version or even an offical rom i don't mind.
I've heard about MKPlus, but it seems like it needs some modification to work on RetroPie. Is that true? Has anyone here been able to run it successfully on RetroPie?
if so how exactly? i'm a real noob and i just followed some tutorials to make it this far so please be gentle haha!Is there a version or ROM of Mortal Kombat out there that combines characters from different games (MK1, MK2, MK3, UMK3, etc.) into one? Maybe something made with M.U.G.E.N., OpenBOR, or any other engine?
Also, any tips on how to run it on a Raspberry Pi (via RetroPie) would be appreciated — including what emulator you used.
