Unable to remove or disable Limelight
-
I accidentally installed Limelight despite not having a compatible PC. Now every time I run a full update it stalls out, incomplete, while searching for limelight PCs. When I tried to uninstall, it merely searched again.
Is there any way to turn off this automatic search? Barring that, can I uninstall the software without triggering the endless search?

Hey @darquegk
I'm not at my Pi right now but as I can recall you might be able to uninstall it from the command prompt. With a USB keyboard plugged in, press F4 to exit EmulationStation and you'll want to type something like this:sudo apt-get remove limelight-embedded
or
sudo apt-get remove moonlight-embedded
The Limelight project have since changed their name to Moonlight so I'm not sure which version RetroPie uses.

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work- it says "unable to find package."

update retropie-setup and you should be able to remove.

updating it didn't work either i went through and did the update everything and when it got to limelight it hung up like the op said. lucky that it was updating last I believe.
Pulling the cord for a full power off, then going to remove it from the managed packages was able to uninstall it

@darkwolf86 you did update all installed packages instead of just updating RetroPie-Setup
