@qix77 you can try this out: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Take-and-Scrape-Your-Own-Screenshots
Only works with retroarch emulators though

@herb_fargus Thanks for the input. I'll check it out. :)

Ok. I have Turbo Grafx 16 (a.k.a. PC Engine) CD games working very well. Sega CD working great. Trying to get Daphne working but my old video files aren't working (they are direct rips form laser discs). So I went again and got 'Dragon's Lair DVD' ordered form Amazon. It's used for like $0.74. As long as it's not too badly scratched, I can rip it and put it on the pie. I'm disappointed that my old Daphne emulator won't play my files on my PC. I think it checks the PC calendar... or maybe I was just too tired last night screwing around with it.

I got my Pocket CHIP today. Guess which emulator I first installed. Here is a hint, my profile picture. :)
I want to make something like the Pocket CHIP display and keyset for the Pi Zero. If I ever do, I'll post about it here.

Far as I can tell? The typical approach is installing mednafen via sudo apt-get install; then using it to run GB/GBC/GBA/NES ROMs. One of the posts there shows you how to write a .SH launcher for it, as well.

That said, some kind of RPie for it, even a mini-version, would be pretty fantastic. Maybe someone can splinter off RP and include only the emus/scripts that the hardware currently supports; but not have ES run on boot; but rather from within CHIP's internal OS instead? Bear in mind that the RAM on PocketCHIP is way more conservative than Pi Zero/2/3; so having frontends running in the background will mess with in-game performance; hence the suggestion to minimize it.
But what should we call it? "RetroCHIP?"
