Could anyone please recommend me a game where I can expericene slowdowns on a RPi 3? I would like to compare to a x86-based ATOM system to if it will perform noticeable better. So I would run that game on both platforms and maybe see a difference.
Ideally a MegaDrive or SNES game. I know N64 is lagging anyway but there are so many video plugins and settings that is is hard to compare I guess.

So are there any regular games you see huge lags on an RPi3?

      Thank you!

With the Pi3 I've been through most of the notable 16-bit standards and there really is no slowdown to speak of. I was testing my overclock with the arcade version of 'Stun Runner' the other day in lr-mame2003 and although it stutters along at my highest clock, there were very notable speed improvements at every increment. You might look at 'Ikaruga' for the Dreamcast, as it is just shy of greatness on the Pi3. Also, almost anything from the PSP library falls a bit short on the Pi3 as well.

That looks like a really nice port.

I noticed that Yoshi's Island for the SNES really pushes the Pi3 and occasionally (albeit rarely) will introduce some slowdown. I believe this is because of the SuperFX 2 emulation requiring more horsepower than a run of the mill SNES game.

That's a really good call. While I haven't personally noticed the slowdown with that title, it would certainly make sense. The other two titles that make use of the SuperFX2 are 'DOOM' and 'Winter Gold'.

@mediamogul With that game I noticed much more severe slowdown on the Pi2. It was still playable, but the sound stuttered, as did the graphics. The Pi3 mostly resolves that problem with it's 200 MHz performance boost over an overclocked Pi2 plus various architectural improvements. Still I have noticed it on occasion with the Pi3, so your right games using a SuperFX2 chip may very well be one of the metrics you need for your tests.
