"Machine Gun" sound on menus.
-
Hi!
I'm new to RetroPie, and I'm having some issues with audio. Some problems were with my USB-powered speakers, which I've now thrown away. Too much static.
Atm. I'm just using the HDMI out to the monitor, and I'll probably connect speakers from its minijack out to get rid of any noise from RPi3.Anyways, at the menus I often get a "Machine Gun" noise which I can't stop, sometimes it stops by itself, other times it's just there all the time.
When starting a game, it stops immediately, but comes back when entering the menu.

I tried uploading a video, but I keep getting an error with "Entity Too Large". It's only 1.2MB.

I think you mean the "flipper" sound. It's determined by the theme you are using. I believe that the new version of the carbon theme (v4) doesn't use it anymore.

It does use the menu sound (at least in 4.0.2 out of the box) but if you press Start to get into the theme menu, you can disable the menu sounds (which I always do)

No, it seems to appear on multiple themes, but not all the time. It gets very annoying if the RetroPie is powered on, but not used at the moment.

ooohkay, I have no idea what that non-stop stuttering noise is. It's not the flipper sound, that's for sure.
