Disabling Transition Styles
-
I was wondering if there was a way to disable transition styles. I would like my background to remain static instead of sliding or fading. It looks funny to have a non-repeating background slide.
-
@5paceCat: Are you referring to a background image on the System View (the main view where you choose which console/system you want to play)?
You could set the same background image for each system, but then I think it would still slide (or fade to black) as you move between systems, so it would never just be a solid, unchanging image.
I'm pretty sure that it's built in EmulationStation functionality and not something you can change with theming. It might be something to bring up with one of the guys working on an ES mod, but I have no idea how hard it would be to do.
There are a couple of threats about various ES mods here, here and here.

Some of the things left out of theme editing is mind boggling...
-
@5paceCat: Indeed. I've made 3 themes now, and the things I could do if certain thing were available... We can't even change the colour or the opacity of the system carousel. It's hardcoded to be white. It really limits the possibilities.
-
Yeah, I was really disappointed earlier today when I found out about the carousel. Ruined my first idea.

@5paceCat it's opensource. Feel free to implement the improvements you feel are lacking.
