Controller has stopped working, and errors reported when launching roms

Ok, sooooo, a couple questions;

My controller worked yesterday day, but as of yesterday night, it lets me scroll to the game system I want, but once I am in the game none of the buttons are working. I have reconfigured it...
I have loaded several roms, but I keep getting different messages.

Most of my Atari games are doing the same thing. Atlantis loads, but the controller doesn't work once in the game. Last night I played a smidgen of sonic and a smidgen of spiderman for the Genesis. Also, my sega master system games are giving me an error message (pictures attached)![alt text](![image url](image url)). I'm sorry if I'm becoming a pain. I am just at a total loss and need some help!

Did you try to reconfigure your controller again within retropie? Edit: Nevermind, I see you tried that.
Also what controller are you using?

@TwoGuidosGaming I did. It still does the same thing. What's odd is that it lets me navigate through the different gaming systems (home page?) but once I choose a game, it no longer functions. I am using a Tomee SNES Retro USB Super Nintendo Controller.

I have changed the thread title - No need for non descriptive dramatic titles in caps in general - apart from our one which should be read first, which never is unfortunately.

@BuZz thank you sir!!! Ok, so now, SOME of the Atari games are working, 2 Genesis games load but the controller does nothing once it's on the actual game. As far as the Atari, I'm wondering if I just got some bad roms? As for the Genesis, Master System, and NES, I'm still at a loss.
