Missing all emulators

Hi all,
I've got the Raspberry Pi 3, followed the guide on github step by step to install retro pie. After booting, and setting controller pad inputs, I just get the Retropie menu item, and no other emulators what so ever. I've followed the steps for putting on my own roms into the mega driver folder and snes folder via usb, restarted and still get nothing on the menu other than RetroPie. Can anyone see what i'm doing wrong? I've tried doing the whole thing again by formatting my memory card, re-installing the image etc but still don't see any emulators on the menu at all.
