Hello, I have a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B and I am running Retropie 4.0.2 and everything seemed all fine and dandy at first, I breezed through "configuring" my controller and got my roms transferred over and using my NES30 Pro controller I can navigate the retropie menu and things like that but as soon as I try to play an snes rom the controller stops working. On the keypad/touchpad thing I bought if I press buts things happen but with my actual joypad nothing happens. How can I make my controller work for the games? This is my very first Raspberry Pi and first project and I am very excited to learn how to use it.

Did you check the documentation ? Also please read https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first as requested when registering on the forum.

note the part about the hack - you probably have it set wrong for your firmware version.
