      Hi all,

Not sure what happened but since Retropie v3.7 I'm suddenly having issues connecting to my pi via sftp/wifi. According to my Pi I'm getting an IP address so it's connected to my network, but when I type the IP address (sftp) into my ftp program (cyberduck) and use pi/raspberry login info cyberduck just hangs until I get a connection failed error. Not blaming the new version, just not sure what else would have changed between me being able to connect and suddenly not being able to connect.

Running a pi2b with a wifi dongle. Again, this is a sudden problem. I'm so/so as far as understanding the Pi so any help would be greatly appreciated. Idiots guide potentially necessary :).

      Thanks,
      Cujo

Try rebooting. Sometimes the wifi will hang and needs a restart

Yeah, that was the first thing I tried, unfortunately it didn't resolve the issue. According to my Pi and the new Wifi menu I'm connected to my network, it's trying to connect to the pi via ftp that suddenly isn't working. I've tried a few reboots but it's the same situation each time.

@kinshi So I've neer done a full re-flash before...should I just back-up all of my games, reflash from scratch and then re-add everything? Will I need to rescrape?

@cujoac you should be able to troubleshoot wifi without needing a full reset but if a full reset is easier than shouldnt be a problem. You can back up your scraped data too so there should be no need for a rescrape. It's in /home/pi/.emulationstation I believe

@cujoac there are a lot of different methods connecting to wifi manually: the built in one on RetroPie is just the simplest.

You can see this page for more options:

                    https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Wifi

There's also variables of hardware like power supply, on board wifi vs dongles, etc. You can also try the poweroff setting mentioned on the above wiki page

Facing the same since yesterday, after a very simple modification, splash screen set to custom mp4 video. Not apparently related to any Wi-Fi settings, actually now reverted but issue persists. In brief, the system (RPi3B with retropie 3.7) is networked (scraper works) but it doesn't reply to any ping or ssh requests from other systems (obviously on the same network). I can ssh the Rpi from the Rpi itself. Repeated the Wi-Fi config following method one in the wiki guide but it didn't solve the remote connectivity issue.

[UPDATE] Resolved after upgrading router firmware. Apparently not a problem of the Rpi nor RetroPie.
