Emulation Station remove characters from filename

In my genesis collection i have multiples version for some games.
Example :
Sonic (EUR).zip
Sonic (jap).bin

In the list of games i have 2 entries with the same name : Sonic.
Is there an option to tell emulationstation remove extension file but not others characters (those between ()).
