TTY2 login shows at boot and when launching roms
-
Hi All,
I'm running on a Raspberry Pi 1, I've just done a fresh install of retropie and ran an update (including raspbian updates ). I've noticed when booting to emulationstation and when launching roms I'm not seeing any of the diagnostic messages I used to see, I'm seeing a login prompt for tty2 instead. I can ctrl + alt + f1 to fix it with no problem but I don't want to have the keyboard attached when I drop the box under the TV.
Any suggestions on how to fix? I did google for solutions but everything I found was just people wanting to hide the boot messages so apologies if this is a known issue

Forgot to mention I also enabled the xbox pad driver in case that's relevant, I currently have 2 configured per defaults

I don't think that the xbox driver matters.
I just registered to ask the same question, and I don't have any special drivers installed.
Also noticed that the splash screen is not showing if a joystick is connected :
I thought I messed something up so I re-installed the image on the sd-card, and now updating. But the compilation of lr-fba takes hours... -
Someone reported it before.
Try this solution:

@meleu Perfect thanks, I even read through the plymouth warning while I was updating but I didn't think it would actually change anything since the message was dated 2015.
I'll update my cmdline.txt when I get a chance tomorrow and report back if any problems ( although I assume there won't be )

@TubeAlloy All good following disabling of plymouth, thanks again
