Hi guys, I'm sure it has been asked to death but what's better:

      • to install raspbian and then to install retropie?
      • or to install retropie and then follow this instrcuctiones: : https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/FAQ#where-did-the-desktop-go
Desktop experience would be the same? Retropie would run smoother in one case? Would it be as easy in both case to update?
Thanks for your helphave a good day!

If this is going to be a dedicated system, just flash your micro SD card with one of the prebuilt images.

@captainvelvet the retropie sd image is built on raspbian. What you are referring to is the desktop environment. Doesn't matter which way you do it but I would recommend installing the desktop environment on the RetroPie image, not the other way around.
