i have a pi3 running the latest version of retropie installed on my sd card. im trying to have my roms run off of my flash drive instead of them transfering to my sd card. i followed this guide. https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Running-ROMs-from-a-USB-drive now whenever i boot up i get the error message saying it cant find any systems and all i can do is quite to the command line. how do i fix this

I think I didn´t understand your question well or you get confused with the guide and the method of copy games in rpi.
Your posted link shows you to run/load games FROM the usb; but for you want to do read this:
https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Transferring-Roms
Format your SD and re-install retropie, then use one of the methods described in that link.

i can transfer roms to my pi just fine. what im trying to do is have the roms run off of my flash drive as i have more roms than my small 8 gig sd card can hold and i cant add any more roms at all. i have a 128 gig flash drive that im trying to get the roms to run off of.
i did everuthing in the guide that i originally posted and double checked that my UUID was right for my usb drive. but i get a popup when i boot emulationstation on saying we cant find any systems check that your paths are correct in the systems configuration file, and your game directory has at leas one game with the correct extension.
