I just installed the Super Mario War port via the RetroPie Setup Script menus, and it doesn't work. I see the game in the list, but when I run it, all I get is a brief error about not being setup correctly, then crashes back to EmulationStation. I saw another thread where somebody was trying to get it set up to work with their gamepad and found out they needed a keyboard to get started. That's not my issue. I have a keyboard hooked up, I don't get any menu's or anything. The game simply does not run. Am I missing some files or something?

@hansolo77 runs fine for me. Just tested on 4.1 after updating the setup script to the latest. Must have failed on the install or something. Update your setup script and try installing the binary again .

Does it create a subfolder in the /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/Ports folder? I just checked, and all I have is a "Super Mario War.sh" file, whose contents read:

          "/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh" 0 _PORT_ "smw" ""

Nevermind, I figured it out. I don't know HOW.. but I think I managed to get the .sh file as a remnant from a previous install, and never actually INSTALLED the package. :)

I've been building my system in stages, testing out what works, etc. I have the ROMs/BIOS saved on a USB Hard Drive that will sit inside my box. That way I could remove it to make transferring everything easier. At one point, I had moved EVERYTHING to a spare "Temporary" folder on my computer. Then I slowly added stuff back one by one. The Ports were the last section. I moved over the script to launch it, but never actually installed it.

For reference, it doesn't install the data to the game in /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports... it installs them to /opt/retropie/ports/smw
